PrizePicks Props: Valero Texas Open

Below you will find the best bets from our Player Projections for the Texas Valero Open ranked in order of confidence.

Si Woo Kim Over 11.5 Greens In Regulation

Course history should admittedly be taken with a grain of salt at TPC San Antonio given the roaring winds generating volatility annually, but Si Woo Kim did notably finish fourth- and 24th-overall at this event the past two years. We are betting that his elite recent form in averaging 1.64 Strokes Gained over the last 30 days (and five tourneys) is significantly more relevant than the mere 0.62 he’s averaged in the past six months.

Hideki Matsuyama Over 8 Fairways Hit

Prior to being (frustratingly) scratched with a back injury only 15 minutes after DFS lineups locked at THE PLAYERS, Hideki Matsuyama had been neck-and-neck with the best golfers on Tour in both his Approach (0.90 SG) and T2G (1.61) in the last 24 rounds. While the injury is still a question mark, we cannot imagine he would be in this field just seven days prior to defending his title at Augusta if he were not at full strength. We have him confidently projected to land in 8.6 fairways.

Ryan Palmer Over 12 Greens In Regulation

Ryan Palmer’s performance Off The Tee (+0.46 SG) over the last three months (19 rounds) is quietly ranked 15th overall among this field, confidently adding to the fact he’s carded three top-six finishes in his last five trips to Valero. A native Texan himself (which boded well for Jordan Spieth last year), we expect Palmer to be competing on Sunday when it’s all said and done.
