Similar to last week with Jon Rahm, we have an overwhelming favorite topping the board in Rory McIlroy at 11.5K. He is surprisingly $400 more than Rahm was last week. Contrasting from last week’s event, however, is the fact that the mid-range group of players is much stronger here at the Wells Fargo Championship. I also think McIlroy will be nowhere close to as motivated as Rahm was to pick up a win. Thus I am completely fading McIlroy this week.
I am very interested in starting most of my builds with either Matt Fitzpatrick or Corey Conners on top. Even putting both of them together is viable thanks to the abundance of depth in the $7K range. Along with those two, Russell Henley and Gary Woodland will make up the majority of the other high-priced players that I will use in my lineups. In my opinion, the best strategy is to go overweight on those four players and then mix and match with all the $7-8K options that rank high in my model.
