Started the year hot and knew it couldn’t stay that way, but getting wrecked on a President’s Day triple header hurts. Especially seeing how close each match was and watching my guy Tommy jar one on the chip-off (I assumed that was the auto win and I think that should be the rule going forward).

But, we’re moving on, as we all have to do in life since there is an unprecedented FOURTH match this week! All six teams will have taken the field this week with the NYGC team returning to take on Tiger Woods and the Jupiter Links squad.

The stats are always going to say that Tiger is bad since he has such a small sample over the past few years and most of it was played while recovering from injuries. He’s been just ok so far on the simulator, with some hiccups in the putting being a bit surprising.

I don’t like to get into the weeds on the simulator, but it sucks. There have been lots of half-hearted comments and scrunched faces over how the ball on the screen acts after the player hits it. I’ll go to my grave under the assumption that they realized it was a HUGE mistake to add Kevin Kisner to a team, and they’ve changed the settings so his shots don’t go an embarrassing distance anymore. I also don’t like to get into the weeds on conspiracy theories, but it’s too late for that and it comes back to what folks have been saying about the Kansas City Chiefs: if you think the deck is stacked against one team unfairly by the officials, why not just bet on the team getting the advantage?

I can’t honestly justify betting on simulator golf on a harebrained idea like that, but I’ve watched most of these guys play golf lately, and I think Rickie offsets Kiz, and Tom Kim is heads and shoulders above the other five here. Cam Young has some nice moments, but it highly inconsistent.
