Round 2 Betting and Showdown Picks – 2022 RBC Heritage

Making his first-ever appearance at the RBC Heritage, rookie Cameron Young looked anything but a debutant as he shot an 8-under 63 in Thursday’s opening round. He was bogey-free and tossed in eight birdies in a round that saw him gain 3.5 strokes on approach. Young, who is known for his ability to bomb the ball off the tee, instead put on an amazing display of flag-hunting on a course where his power with the driver is mitigated.

“You have to really pick your spots where you think you can be a little aggressive and places where you just can’t” Young said.

Joaquin Niemann continued his sharp play and finished with a 65, two shots behind Young. Seven players sit three shots back including Patrick Cantlay, Corey Conners and Shane Lowry.

Friday’s weather appears to be quite windy for the duration. Winds are forecast to be consistent between 13-18 mph with gusts ranging from 20-35 mph. The morning gusts are stronger than later in the day but the wind speed is lower. It’s hard to predict which wave has any weather advantage.
