What a wildly fun tournament the Byron Nelson ended up being. K.H. Lee pulled off the repeat finishing at a whopping -26, one shot ahead of the ever exciting Jordan Spieth who was about an inch away with his approach on 18 from giving himself a REALLY good look for eagle and a playoff. Lee never really even sniffed the 70s for the week having two sub-65 rounds and his worst round coming in at 68. Despite being the defending champion at the Byron Nelson, Lee’s odds we’re pretty long all week opening at 80/1 and closing up at 90/1 on FanDuel. Golfers clap for anyone cashing a 90/1 ticket this weekend. Lee also cashed his Top 20 odds (+360), Top 10 odds (+750), and Top 5 odds (+1400).
- Lee won, but it wasn’t without some drama on Sunday. Jordan Spieth shot 65 and 64 on Friday and Saturday giving himself a shot on Sunday. He had himself in the middle of the fairway on 18 and was about an inch away on his approach shot from giving himself a great look at eagle and forcing a playoff. Instead, a chip from the fringe didn’t get home and Spieth finished 2nd place by just a shot. Spieth’s outright odds were +1600, good for the 3rd favorite of the weekend. Those odds didn’t hit, but he did cash his Top 5 (+360), Top 10 (+190), and Top 20 (-115) lines.
- The highlight of the week for Betsperts Golf was huge Round 1 bet cashing. Ron Klos called his shot giving out Sebastian Munoz 1st Round leader at 80/1. Hopefully some of you took advantage of. Back-to-back big winners from the Betsperts Golf team with Max Homa’s 50/1 outright ticket last week followed by Munoz’s 1st Round leader at 80/1 this week.
