With outright favorite Tom Kim losing 4.98 strokes putting on Thursday, he has a steep hill to climb over the next three rounds. After scoring birdies on two of his first three holes, he shot 4-over the rest of the round. It was definitely a frustrating start for all that backed him (including yours truly). The good news? If you still think he has a chance to win, his odds have dropped to +17500. Remember, last season he started off the Wyndham Championship with a quadruple bogey and ended up winning by five shots.
These greens are very simple and flat, and he usually gains 0.59 strokes per round on Bermuda. I would expect a nice bounce-back on the greens tomorrow. His ball-striking was tremendous as he gained 2.52 strokes in that area. While his first concern is making the cut, there is no doubt he has the ability to storm up the leaderboard, especially in very calm and scoreable conditions tomorrow.
