2022 RBC Heritage Betting Recap

Easter weekend has officially become Jordan Spieth’s favorite on the calendar. For the second consecutive year walked away on Easter Sunday with a win; this year at the RBC and last year at the Valero Texas Open. Maybe get on those Spieth Masters outrights (+2400 on FanDuel) as soon as you can with next year’s Tradition Unlike Any Other taking place over Easter weekend.

The win didn’t come easy for Spieth, but it wouldn’t be Jordan Spieth if there weren’t drama-filled ups and downs. After a Sunday 66 got Spieth in the clubhouse at -13, Patrick Cantlay sat in an ideal position on the 18th fairway; a whole he’d birdied the 1st three rounds. Cantlay stuck his shot to 12-feet but missed the birdie putt keeping him at 13-under. In the 2-man playoff, both Spieth and Cantlay were in great positions off the tee. Both came up short and in the bunker on their approaches. Spieth nearly holed out from the sand and made a tap-in birdie while Cantlay ended up with a fried egg, was only able to get himself to about 40-feet where he missed the putt giving Spieth the win.

Spieth cashed his +3700 outright odds at the RBC along with Top 5 (+850), Top 10 (+500), and Top 20 (+190) numbers.

  • The tournament runner-up Patrick Cantlay entered the RBC as one of the tournament favorites having the third-shortest outright odds at +1700. Cantlay has come close a few times this season but is still looking for his first outright win. This weekend, he cashed Top 5 (+500 open), Top 10 (+210 open), and Top 20 (-105 open) bets.
  • Harold Varner III spent all week near the top of the leaderboard, and after a 63 on Saturday appeared poised to take home his first win on the PGA Tour from the final pairing. Varner ultimately wasn’t able to capitalize on any of the three par 5’s on Sunday which cost him in the end. He still had a long putt to enter the playoff on the 18th green but closely missed it settling him with a T3 finish. Varner has now finished T10 in 2 of his last 5 tournaments, and T20 in three of his last five. Varner entered the RBC with +4500 outright odds on FanDuel. He cashed his Top 5 (+1000), Top 10 (+550), and Top 20 (+230) lines.
