2022 RBC Canadian Open Round 3 Betting and Showdown Picks

While a host of players moved up the leaderboard on Friday including Alex Smalley, Keith Mitchell and Rory McIlroy, Thursday’s leaders, Wyndham Clark and Matt Fitzpatrick remained stuck in neutral. While Clark still holds a one-shot lead, he made three bogeys on the back nine to finish at even-par for the round. Fitzpatrick was also on a roll, shooting 4-under through the first 11 holes until he collapsed down the stretch playing the last five holes at 4-over par. He sits in a tie for second with Smalley, Mitchell, McIlroy and Jim Knous.

St. George’s Golf and Country and Club has proven to be a challenging test. Gusting winds only added to the difficulty on Friday. “Challenging,” McIlroy said. “I think the only thing this golf course needs for it to feel a little more major like is just a bit of length. I think that’s the only thing that’s missing. The rough is very penal, the greens are tricky, the wind’s up, it’s drying out a little bit because of the wind. All of a sudden you’ve got a pretty testing golf course.”
