2022 PGA Championship Round 2 Betting and Showdown Picks

Rory McIlroy jumped out of the gate hot with birdies on four of his first six holes and shot a 5-under 65, giving him a one-shot lead at the conclusion of a hot and windy day. His ball-striking was sharp as he gained over four strokes combined off the tee and on approach. Tom Hoge and Will Zalatoris are tied for second, each shooting 4-under. A host of high-ranked players round out the top-10 including Justin Thomas, Abraham Ancer, Xander Schauffele, Joaquin Niemann, and Cameron Smith. Thomas in particular was an excellent live-outright add as his odds dropped down to +2700 before he even teed off.

While the forecasted winds did not seem as strong in the afternoon as predicted, there was still a clear morning advantage of almost one stroke for the early wave. Overall the course played 2.82 strokes over par. With morning winds expected to be fierce and gusting between 30-45 mph for the morning wave, the expected cut-line should fall around 4-over par. Winds are forecast to decline sharply after 1pm giving afternoon players a clear advantage if you are playing in DraftKings Showdown contests.
