- Tom Hoge – 2 shots back (+1800 FanDuel) – I took Hoge at +13000 pre-tournament so my pick is in, but he gained 5.8 on Approach and missed multiple easy putts; streaky and trending upward.
- Jason Day – 5 shots back (+5000 BetRivers) – Gets to tee off early Friday with calmer winds; great sign gaining 1.9 on Approach; great wind player who could continue to climb the leaderboard with continued gusts thru the weekend.
- Cameron Davis – 5 shots back (+3000 BetMGM) – Birdied 2 of last 3 holes in 1st round; gained 2.7 on Approach; lost with putter which is one of his strengths on bentgrass; also tees off early on Friday.
